This collection is comprised of various materials, including videos, pamphlets, reports, and photographic materials, from the Department of Arkansas Heritage and its agencies that promote the department, the agency, or aspects of Arkansas history, culture, and/or heritage.
Biographical/Historical Note
The Department of Arkansas Heritage (DAH) was established in 1975, originally known as the Department of Arkansas Natural and Cultural Heritage. DAH is made up of eight agencies: the Arkansas Arts Council, the Arkansas Historic Preservation Program, the Arkansas Natural Heritage Commission, the Arkansas State Archives, the Delta Cultural Center, the Historic Arkansas Museum, the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center and finally the Old State House Museum. The department focuses on finding, preserving, and promoting Arkansas’s natural, historical, and cultural history and heritage.
