This collection contains records from local, state, and national organizations, with special emphasis on Camp Winfield #2, Little Rock, Arkansas.

Biographical/Historical Note

The Department of Arkansas Auxiliary, United Spanish War Veterans, honored those who served in the Spanish-American War. Local organizations were called "camps." In 1910 Camp Roosevelt #1 of Hot Springs was the first auxiliary camp organized in Arkansas. Camp Winfield #2 was organized in Little Rock in 1924. The Department of Arkansas Auxiliary was organized in 1929. At one time there were 23 auxiliary camps across Arkansas.
