This collection contains photocopies of correspondence between James Montgomery and his wife, Martha, and other documents related to his service in the Confederate Army.

Biographical/Historical Note

James R. Montgomery was a soldier in the Confederate Army. According to the records in this collection, he was in Company E, 14th Arkansas Infantry (McCarver's) unit and mustered in on September 23, 1861 near Bowling Green, Kentucky.
