Transcription

December 4, 1832 Judge Henry C. Caldwell born in West Virginia, member of Iowa legislature, colonel in Third Iowa Cavalry, appointed U.S. District Judge of Arkansas by Pres. Lincoln.

Last of the Cherokees left Ross' Landing (Chattanooga) on their removal through Arkansas, Dec. 4, 1838.
