October 19, 1829 Colonel J. R. Pettigrew born in Hempstead County, published Arkansian and Sentinel at Fayetteville, lieut-colonel in Confederate army, severely wounded, state legislature, journal clerk U.S. Senate, member Utah Commission.
Rt. Rev. Henry Niles Pierce for 30 years Episcopal Bishop in Arkansas, was born in Rhode Island Oct. 19, 1820.
