Biographical/Historical Note
James F. Elmore May was born in South Carolina, April 21, 1849. In 1875, he moved to Arkansas and married Sarah J. Shell. They settled on a farm in Nevada County. Elmore was a Mason and the secretary of his lodge. He died in 1927.
