This collection contains a list of Arkansas Confederate soldiers buried at Johnson's Island, off Sandusky, Ohio in Lake Erie.
Biographical/Historical Note
Johnson's Island was the site for a prisoner of war camp constructed in 1861 to hold Confederate officers and had one of the lowest mortality rates of Civil War prisons. It was abandoned after the war and the last building burned in 1901.
