Description
The collection contains correspondence between Governor Orval Faubus and State Senator Jake Porter related to the completion of the Shores Lake Dam.
Biographical/Historical Note
Construction began on the Shores Lake Dam in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps. The dam was completed in 1958. A cooperative effort between the USDA Forest Service and the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission helped complete the structure.
