Description

This collection contains correspondence, memos, printed ephemera, signs, maps, German prisoner information, song pamphlets, a prayer book, military orders, and over one hundred physical 3D objects housed in the Arkansas State Archives museum collection. A list of the museum items are in the first folder of this collection.

Biographical/Historical Note

Almost 72,000 men from Arkansas participated in World War I. Luther C. Gulley traveled to France in the employment of the overseas Postal Service of the American Expeditionary Force during World War I. While in the employment of the Postal Service, he gathered material significant to World War I, specifically for the Arkansas State Archives to preserve and house. Gulley brought back documents and numerous 3D objects now housed in the Arkansas State Archives.
