Description

This collection contains three letters from Nat G. Pierce of the 14th Ohio Volunteer Infantry, to his mother, dated from November 1862-March 1865.

Biographical/Historical Note

Nathaniel Pierce was a Union soldier, who joined the 14th Regiment Ohio Volunteer Infantry in Toledo, Ohio, on August 26, 1861, at the age of fifteen. He served as a musician in Company G and mustered out in July 1865. He participated in numerous engagements, including the Chattanooga and Atlanta campaigns.
