This collection consists of one certificate from the Daughters of the American Revolution stating that Mrs. Francis Harrow Hanger was elected state regent of Arkansas, dated February 17, 1898.

Biographical/Historical Note

The Daughters of the American Revolution, founded in 1890, is a non-profit volunteer women's service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism and preserving American history. Mrs. Francis Harrow Hanger (1856-1945) was a clubwoman, writer, and civic volunteer active in many aspects of cultural and public life of Little Rock from the 1870s until her death in 1945.
