This collection contains a diary kept by George T. Paull on a flatboat trip to New Orleans in 1842.

Biographical/Historical Note

George Torrence Paull was the son of James Paull Jr. and Hannah Jackson Paull. Paull was born around 1812 in Pennsylvania. In 1842 Paull was part of a flatboat crew travelling to New Orleans, Louisiana. A small portion of that trip passed by Arkansas where he saw his first brick house since leaving the mouth of the Ohio River.
