This collection contains two photocopies of letters written by W.W. Hanks to James M. Elliott regarding Hanks' move to Dallas, Arkansas.

Biographical/Historical Note

James M. Elliott and W.W. Hanks were neighbors before W.W. Hanks moved to Dallas in Polk County, Arkansas for his health. The move to Polk County did not help improve Hanks' health as he had tuberculosis and moved again to Centreville, Arkansas within months of arriving in Dallas. James Elliott handled W.W. Hanks' property after he moved to Dallas, Arkansas.
