Description

Letter from R.G. Allen, President of the Little Rock Baseball Association to J.H. "Rube" Roberson. The letter, written on stationary from the Piedmont Hotel in Atlanta, is informing Roberson that he's been released to the Atlanta Baseball Club.

Biographical/Historical Note

Born August 16, 1889, in Floyd, White County, Arkansas, John Henry Roberson was known to baseball fans as "Rube Robinson," a label given to him by the press. Roberson played professional baseball from 1908 until 1929 and was inducted into the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame in 1962.
