Feb 1st 1864
My Dear Sir -
Your letter
directed to me at Washington
was forwarded to me at the
joint(?) & has just reached me -
W is not to[sic] old to rejoice [illegible] -
I was glad the convention
turned out so well. I always
felt hopeful of it somehow. I
will speak here & in Concord(?)
Nashua & Manchester & then
come directly home & [illegible]
in putting [illegible] through
Every thing will work well
I feel sure - There is an
immense feeling North for
Arkansas. Be of good cheer
for daylight is ahead
I expect to beat the
[illegible] school(?) home, but I will
write anyhow -
