Information from donor reads, "Came to Ark. From Tenn. 1850. Drilled soldiers for Confederate Army. Sheriff of Baxter County for first 8 years of county's existence. Representative two terms. Elected sheriff again, killed during his second term while on duty June 15, 1892.
