Description
This collection consists of 14 binders containing marriage records in Greene County, listing bride and groom alphabetically from the years of 1834 to 2004. There are also 19th century articles of incorporation, lists of ministers, probate records, and wills.
Biographical/Historical Note
Greene County, Arkansas, was formed from a part of Lawrence County in 1833. Benjamin Crowley, for whom Arkansas's Crowley's Ridge is named, settled the area in 1821. The county itself is named for Revolutionary War hero Nathaniel Greene. Paragould is the current county seat and largest town in the county.
