This collection contains a religious sermon about the topic of sin, receipts for the sale of cotton and purchased goods, and probate court land records for Missouri and Arkansas.
Biographical/Historical Note
William Browning Ross was born in Alabama on April 4, 1821 to Peter and Mary Arnold Ross. Ross was one of the first settlers of Clark County, Arkansas. He married Nancy Peeples Bozeman of Clark County in 1845, when she was 14 years old, and they had one child before her death in 1848. He then married Eliza Sloan on February 8, 1849, and had eight children. Ross was a cotton farmer and he purchased real estate all over the state of Arkansas and Missouri.
