This collection contains one item, a Muster Roll from T.M. Whittington's Company, Company C, Third Arkansas Volunteers (Col. Van H. Manning).

Biographical/Historical Note

The 3rd Arkansas Infantry Regiment was a Confederate Army regiment under the command of Colonel Albert Rust, and later, Colonel Van H. Manning, and as part of the Army of Northern Virginia, served under General Robert E. Lee. It spent the entire war in the Eastern Theater and participated in several major engagements, including the Battle of Antietam, the Battle of Gettysburg, and the Appomattox Campaign. Company C, under the command of T.M. Whittington, was organized in Monticello, Drew County, on June 10, 1861, and served for four years, after which only thirteen men remained.
