Biographical/Historical Note
This collection contains five documents for the Fort Smith Lumber Company. The first document dated November 22, 1902 is a Chattel Mortgage from J.M. Bailey and N.E. Bailey to G.L. Johnson; the second document dated January 20, 1903 is a contract for sale and delivery of timber from J.M. Williamson to the Fort Smith Lumber Company; the third being a lease dated January 20, 1903 from the Fort Smith Lumber Company to J.M. Williamson for his leasing saw mill from Lumber company; the fourth document dated October 3, 1903 is a letter from a company in Abbott, Arkansas to J.M. Williamson concerning delivery of lumber and road repair; and the final document dated April 15, 1904 is a statement from J.M. Bailey and N.E. Bailey to J.M. Williamson for debt owed.
