Biographical/Historical Note
"Chainmail" is a newsletter of the DeSoto Trial Commission. It was produced and distributed through the facilities of the South Carolina Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology at the University of South Carolina, Columbia, South Carolina. The commission's purpose was to identify the route Hernando de Soto followed through each state and also to plan events to commemorate the expedition.
