Description

Farrell Conner, secretary-manager of the Chamber of Commerce, is shown driving a jeep in the Christmas Toy Parade, which is an annual event sponsored by the local Chamber of Commerce. Jeep is driving down a street of businesses including a drug store, Maxfield's, and Paul Wright.

Biographical/Historical Note

The Central PTA directed the Christmas Toy Parade December 11. Small cash prizes were awarded the winners of six divisions: float, marching group, wagons and bicycles, small bikes, trikes, and tractors, costumes. The organization was given $50.00 for their work in this event.

Photos from a scrapbook entitled, "Accomplishments of Batesville, AR, March 1, 1952-February 28, 1953. The scrapbook was assembled by the Community Development Council. Both were sponsored by the Batesville Chamber of Commerce.
