Description

Letter with a business proposition sent from Ohio River Contractor Eichel Lime and Stone Company to Swan C. Dowell, principal administrator for the Village Creek Drainage Disctrict.

Biographical/Historical Note

Swan C. Dowell was an enterprising land developer who was involved in many projects, including drainage districts, road development, and real estate. The first drainage district he aided in administrating was Village Creek in Walnut Ridge, which was instrumental in producing viable land for local farmers.
