Description
This collection consists of one ledger book which has written documentation of the minutes of the meetings, a copy of the by-laws, and other information about the business of the creamery. The records also include a folder containing a contract to hire an operator of the creamery. It opened for business on June 14, 1899, in Imboden, Arkansas.
Biographical/Historical Note
The Imboden Creamery and Cold Storage Company was formed in 1899 in Imboden, Arkansas, to manufacture butter and dairy products. The business was operated in Imboden until at least 1901. Part of the collection includes a contract for hiring a man to operate the business, using 50 milk cows at his own expense to supply the milk to develop the products.
