August 4, 1834 Wm. G. Whipple born, prominent lawyer and mayor of Little Rock.

First court in Little River County held at Rocky Comfort, first county seat Aug. 4, 1840.

John Henry Byrd, noted portrait painter came to Arkansas August 4, 1840.
