This collection contains a deed to Emily A. Morris.
Biographical/Historical Note
In 1840, legislation was passed in Arkansas authorizing the donation of forfeited land that failed to sell at public auction. It was through this Act that Emily A. Morris obtained 160 acres of land. In order to keep the land, she was given eighteen months to make improvements on several acres of it.
