This collection contains a poem by Zella Hargrove Gaither. This poem details the life of a woman who regrets not spending enough time with her family.

Biographical/Historical Note

Zella Hargrove was born about 1850 in Mississippi. Her father, John L. Hargrove, was a Confederate officer during the Civil War. Zella married Elias R. Gaither, a Confederate veteran, in 1876. The couple made their home in Texarkana, where Elias was a bookkeeper. Zella was a teacher and a writer, worked for the Federal Writers' Project, and wrote many articles about Arkansas for newspapers and magazines. She spent the last three years of her life in the Confederate Home in Little Rock, and died there April 1,1940.
