This letter is a copy and transcript of a letter written by C.E. Godard to his parents, Jesse and Mary Godard, concerning his trip to California.
Biographical/Historical Note
C.E. Godard was the son of Jesse and Mary Godard, of Washington County, Arkansas. When he was eighteen, he left home and moved to California to become a teacher. After staying for several years, he returned to Sebastian County, Arkansas, where he lived with his wife, Narcissa, and children.
