Description

This collection contains pay receipts for farming and cord wood, practice sheet for penmanship, empty envelope, and one drawing about the birth of George Bradford.

Biographical/Historical Note

George Bradford was born April 11, 1811, in Hardy County, West Virginia, to George W. and Mary Stingley Bradford. Mary passed away in 1813 when George was two years old. George married Sarah Hite in 1830, Maria Mitchell in 1868, and Hannah Young about 1884. George and his family moved from West Virginia to Indiana in 1835 or 1836 where he stayed until his death in 1894. He was laid to rest in Idaville Cemetery, White County, Indiana, on December 9, 1894.
