Description
This collection contains a final grant report for the Arkansas Baptist College Preserving Our History/ Archives project, which installed and dedicated a marker to Dr. Elias Camp Morris, one of the founding fathers of Arkansas Baptist College. The project was funded in part by the Curtis H. Sykes Memorial Grant. The collection also contains photographs from the marker dedication, an event announcement, and programs.
Biographical/Historical Note
Arkansas Baptist College (ABC), is an urban college campus, located in the heart of the Greater Little Rock Community. It was founded in 1884 and is recognized as one of the most significant structures associated with African American history in Arkansas and remains a landmark institution in the city, state, and nation. Coupled with this recognition, is its continued use as an educational institution and its close association with Dr. Elias Camp Morris (founder of Arkansas Baptist College) who worked tirelessly to enhance the historic significance of Arkansas Baptist College.
