This collection consists of three scrapbooks covering dates 1952-1955, 1955-1962, and 1962-1972. Scrapbooks include membership, officers, photos, news clippings, cards, and decorations regarding the Hawthorn Garden Club of El Dorado, Arkansas, for noted years.
Biographical/Historical Note
The Hawthorn Garden Club was organized in 1952 with the club flower as a hawthorn. It was a member of the Arkansas Federation of Garden Clubs. Group activities included educational programs and flower shows in member's homes with themed arrangements. The club operated for at least 20 years as these scrapbooks cover years 1952-1972.
