This collection contains the proclamation signed by Arkansas Governor Winthrop Rockefeller on January 3, 1969, declaring that the week of February 16-22 was to be National Engineer’s Week, to help encourage young people to enter the field of engineering.
Biographical/Historical Note
In 1951, the National Society of Professional Engineers helped to establish the National Engineer’s Week that runs from February 16-22. The purpose of this week is to encourage young people to find careers in engineering and science. In 1969, the National Engineer’s week focused on “Rebuilding Urban American.”
