Description

This collection contains membership rolls, rosters, minutes, committee reports, correspondence, funeral notices, clippings, and applications for the Southern Cross of Honor. The microfilm also includes records of the Felix I. Batson Chapter Number 221, United Daughters of the Confederacy, Clarksville, Arkansas, 1892-1932, a separate organization.

Biographical/Historical Note

John F. Hill Camp Number 1031, United Confederate Veterans, was founded at Clarksville, Arkansas, in 1892 and named for Colonel John F. Hill, a veteran of both the Mexican and Civil wars. He served in Sixteenth Arkansas Infantry, Confederate States Army. The organization ceased meeting in 1939.
