This collection contains correspondence from various members of the Huffman-Quertermous family of Arkansas County, Arkansas. The collection also contains a genealogical chart, letters written during the Civil War, postcards, greeting cards, newspaper clippings, a scrapbook, and newspapers.

Biographical/Historical Note

Annie Huffman (1865-1957) and Virgil A. Quertermous (1863-1919) were married December 3, 1895. Annie was the daughter of Samuel P.C. and Henrietta Huffman. Samuel and Henrietta were originally from North Carolina. Before moving to Arkansas they lived in Missouri, where Annie was born. Annie and Virgil A. Quertermous lived in Humphrey, Arkansas, and had two children, Emmett and Louise.
