Biographical/Historical Note
The Oxford American Magazine is a quarterly literary magazine. It was founded in 1992 in Oxford, Mississippi, by Marc Smirnoff. The magazine ceased publication in 1994, 2001, and 2002, but is currently being published in Little Rock, Arkansas. The Southern Music Issue has been published annually since 1997.
