This collection contains an tax collector's notice with a list of dates and locations that the White County Sheriff, L.J. Steward, was going to be positioned at in order to collect taxes from the residents of White County, Arkansas. This notice is dated December 1, 1915.
Biographical/Historical Note
White county is Arkansas' thirty-first county. It was formed on October 23, 1835, from portions of Independence, Jackson, and Pulaski counties and named for Hugh Lawson White, a Whig candidate for President of the United States. The county seat is Searcy.
