This collection contains one broadside, an announcement of the "Fifth District Track and Literary Meets" to be held at Marianna.

Biographical/Historical Note

Marianna is a town in and the county seat of Lee County, Arkansas. It is located along the L'Anguille River in the Arkansas Delta just north of the St. Francis National Forest. It was established by Col. Walter H. Otey in 1848 and was known as "Walnut Ridge" until 1852 when it became known as "Marianna."
