Description

This collection contains three letters.

Biographical/Historical Note

This collection contains a copy of a letter from James R. Magee to his brother. From the contents of the letter, Magee appears to be a mule skinner and says he will be going on an expedition in Texas. The collection also contains two letters of correspondence between Harold T. Magee and Ted Worley, Director of the Arkansas History Commission. Magee says that James R. Magee was his grandfather's brother and that Magee was reported missing in Pennsylvania around 1860. The letter appears to be the only trace of him that the family has found after that year.
