This collection contains two letters and a resolution relating to the preservation of the Ringgold House in Batesville, Arkansas.

Biographical/Historical Note

The John Ringgold House was erected in Batesville, Arkansas, in 1820. It was the childhood home of Lucretia Ringgold, who later married Fent Noland. Noland was a politician and writer who wrote for the New York "Spirit of the Times," a leading sports and humor newspaper. He lived in the John Ringgold House with Lucretia from 1840 to 1855. The home was razed in 1964 to build Gibson's Discount Store.
