Biographical/Historical Note

The Friends of the Arkansas State Archives is a non-profit organization formed in 2015 to support, promote, and strengthen the collections, services, and programs of the Arkansas State Archives. The staff of the Friends volunteers and hosts volunteer events at the archives, such as the county record indexing project. They also help sponsor the Archives Pen to Podium lecture series. They help to raise funds for services at the State Archives and donations of materials for the collections. In addition, they advocate for the State Archives within the community and state government.
