Biographical/Historical Note
The Crescent College and Conservatory was operated by the Crescent Hotel in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. It opened on September 23, 1908, in order to provide additional income to keep the hotel running year round. It operated from September through June, and the summer months were devoted to hotel operations. The college remained open until 1924 when a lack of funding caused it to close. A junior college took its place in 1930 and remained there until 1934.
