This collection contains a course of study, three bulletins, one program, one pamphlet, and one brochure from 1922 to 1974 related to State Agricultural School and Arkansas State College, later known as Arkansas State University, in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
Biographical/Historical Note
Arkansas State University is a public research university located in Jonesboro, Arkansas. It was founded as a regional agricultural training school, the First District Agricultural School, in 1909. ASU began offering a two-year college program in 1918; and in 1925, it became the First District Agricultural and Mechanical College. A four-year degree program began in 1930. The name changed again in 1933 to Arkansas State College. In 1967, the Arkansas Legislative elevated the institution from college to university status, and the name was changed to Arkansas State University.
