Description
This collection is related to a play put on by the students of Meridian High School Theatre Department in Meridian, Mississippi, about the Wrightsville 21. The production was funded in part by the Curtis H. Sykes Memorial Grant. The collection includes a final grant report for the project.
Biographical/Historical Note
The stage production of "Death By Design": The Secret Holocaust of Wrightsville Arkansas was an hour long stage production that seeks to enlighten all local citizens in Little Rock, Pine Bluff, and Wrightsville, Arkansas, of the Black Holocaust that took place in Wrightsville, Arkansas, when the young boys of the Negro Boys Industrial School were treated unfairly; and how they wrongfully died through unjust laws by the state of Arkansas due to extreme racism in the 1950's.The program also includes a selection of poems, monologues, singing selections, and other art forms geared towards the feature presentation of the stage production.
