This collection contains correspondence to and from Sophie (Mrs. Chick) Major, an advertisement for the Chick Major Dixie Mallard call, and an advertisement and biographical information for Pat Peacock.

Biographical/Historical Note

Darce Manning "Chick" Major began building duck calls during the 1930s in a small workshop in Stuttgart. He won the World Duck Calling Championship in 1945. His cornerstone call was known as the Dixie Mallard. Major's wife Sophie and stepdaughters Brenda Peacock, Dixie (Major) Holt, and Pat Peacock all went on to win multiple women's division World Duck Calling Championships. Pat Peacock was also the first woman to win the men's division twice in 1955 and 1956.
