The Van Buren County Court House and Jail Bonds in this collection are for the years 1872-1874. Van Buren County was formed in November 1833, from parts of Conway, Independence and Izard Counties becoming the 29th county in Arkansas. The county of Van Buren was named for President Martin Van Buren.
