Description
This collection consists of one report on drainage of certain lands in Arkansas for the Committee on Public Lands, U.S. House of Representatives, dated July 29, 1919.
Biographical/Historical Note
The Committee of Public Lands was created on December 17, 1805, by the House of Representatives to help Congress manage the newly-acquired Louisiana Purchase Territory. As new territory came under federal control, the Public Lands Committee handled land sales, railroad grants, national parks, conservation, forests, and mineral and water rights.
