This collection contains minutes of the Arkansas Federation of Women's Clubs between 1915-1918.
Biographical/Historical Note
The Arkansas Federation of Women’s Clubs was established during a conference held on April 22–23, 1897 in Little Rock, Arkansas. The first years of the organization were devoted to study, and literary clubs predominated its membership clubs eventually dedicated themselves to volunteerism and social reform. Clubs belonging to AFWC have been leaders in fundraising and lobbying efforts to improve Arkansas. Some accomplishments include the establishment of libraries across Arkansas and the preservation of the Old State House in Little Rock.
