This collection contains two sheets of non-postal stamps issued by the American Legion representing various aspects of Arkansas.

Biographical/Historical Note

The American Legion was chartered by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic, war-time veterans organization. Arkansas was represented in the American Legion from its beginning in 1919 and was the first state in the United States to incorporate a chapter.
