This collection contains photocopies of five pages from the book, "Ole Man Mose and His Chillun: The Story of Moses Collins of South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi, and His Descendants," by Dr. A.O. Collins. The selection from the book in this collection discusses Benjamin Collins' life.

Biographical/Historical Note

Benjamin F. Collins served in the Mississippi Legislature from Tippah County. He moved from Mississippi to Arkansas in 1856 and established the settlement of Collins, Arkansas. He also served as senator from Drew County in the Arkansas Legislature on three occasions. Collins died on March 1, 1886.
