Description
This deed records the sale of sixteenth section land in Saline County, Arkansas, to Joseph Lindsey. The deed was signed by David Dodd, Commissioner.
Biographical/Historical Note
Joseph Lindsey was born about 1790 in South Carolina. Lindsey married Hannah Milner about 1811 in South Carolina and they had six children: Mary, Martha, Hannah, Lewis, Thomas, and Sarah. By 1841 the Lindsey family had settled in Arkansas and in 1850 they were living in Saline County where Joseph was a farmer.
